Patriots extend win streak to 10 in primetime

The New England Patriots continue to shock the NFL world after beating the New York Giants in a Dec. 1 showdown.

In a season where the football world didn’t expect to see the Patriots win more than seven to eight games during the 2025 campaign, the Patriots put the world on notice by winning their 10th straight game against the Giants by a score of 33-15.

Patriots QB Drake Maye continues to show poise, consistency and confidence in each game that he plays this season. He completed 24 of his 31 passes in the contest, throwing for 282 yards and two touchdown passes. He completed shy of 80 percent of his passes.

A difference maker in this game was the return of Patriots receiver Kayshon Boutte, who suffered a hamstring injury in a week 9 contest against the Atlanta Falcons. Boutte brought in 4 receptions for 35 yards and a touchdown catch to go along with it.

Maye continues to impress with his deep throw accuracy this season as he threw a 33 yard bomb to rookie Kyle Williams for a touchdown. Maye has a staggering 71.5 percent deep ball completion rate, leading the NFL.

The Patriots head into week 14 with a bye. The bye comes at a crucial time for New England as they prepare to make a playoff run. Coming off the bye in week 15 they will have one of the biggest games of their season when Josh Allen and the Bills come to Foxborough for the second meeting this season.

The last time the two met in week 5, the Patriots got the win on an Andy Borregales field goal on Sunday Night Football by a score of 23-20.

The stakes are a little higher this time around as the 11-2 Pats look to win the AFC East for the first time in five years. The Bills come into this game with a 9-4 record and three games behind the Patriots in the division. Buffalo looks to get the win in a game where they continue to fight for a playoff spot.

Buffalo currently is the sixth seed owner as of now. A win for them and a Chargers loss would propel the Bills into the fifth seed, giving them more cushion to make the playoffs. The Texans are the other team Buffalo is trying to fight off the edge of the playoff picture.

Currently sitting at 8-5, the Texans look to move up the ladder with a win against the Cardinals and a Bills loss.

That is what makes this Pats-Bills game high-stakes. We don’t just have rivalry bragging rights and a division clinching scenario on the line. Both teams have specific reasons they need to win. For New England, although they can’t mathematically miss the playoffs, would like to have bragging rights and a continued boost of confidence heading for the playoffs.

For Buffalo, they need the win so they can at least tie the season series and stay in prime position for a playoff spot. A loss doesn’t eliminate the Bills, but it would move them into 7th seed, assuming Houston wins. Back to back losses would have them out of the picture.
