expected to release new stadium renderings in 2026 Plans continue to move forward with the Chiefs new stadium, expected to be completed by the start of the 2031 season. On Friday Chiefs’ President Clark Hunt announced that the renderings for their new $3 billion project will be released later this year.  The plans for the project were announced back in December by Kansas Governor Laura Kelly and team Chairman Clark Hunt. It is expected to seat 65,000 fans, which is 10,000 fewer than Arrowhead at 73,426.  The new domed stadium will be built in Wyandotte County, Kansas. It will be near The Legends, which is a large shopping and commercial area. Dating back to the summer,  Hunt has put emphasis on wanting to enhance the fan experience in renovations at Arrowhead.  The move is due to the state of Kansas having offered a more suitable finance package that includes the STAR bonds currently implemented in comparison to the Missouri proposal.  “Frankly, not every...

He stated that he talked to his players on Monday in a private session when they returned for the voluntary workout program. He stated that the meetings were productive and positive but they would remain private.  “We believe that in order to be successful on and off the field, you have to make good decisions, and that includes me, that starts with me,” said Vrabel. He thanked the media for being so patient and understanding during this time.  The photos that led to the incident first appeared on Page Six. They appeared to show Mike Vrabel and NFL reporter Dianna Russini alone at an adult-only Arizona resort before the annual coaches meeting that was being held in Sedo...

Texans’ Will Anderson Jr. re-signs on massive deal The Houston Texans and pro-bowler Will Anderson Jr. have agreed on a 3-year, $150 million deal.  The Texans have made it clear they want to lock up key players heading into the future of this team. They re-sign Will Anderson Jr. on his three-year deal and include $134 million in guaranteed money. The deal makes Anderson Jr. the highest paid non-QB ever in league history.  Anderson Jr. did his part in earning this massive deal. In 2024, he won Defensive Rookie of the year. In just three years, Anderson Jr. has 30 sacks in his career, 12 of which is a career best from the 2025 season. He also had 54 tackles, 35 of those were solo. He contributed to 3 fumbles forced.  Anderson’s deal comes after the franchise kept five-time pro bowler Danielle Hunter around. He was re-signed on a one-year $40 million deal back on March 5. Justice Dept. investigating NFL over antitrust tactics

Image
Justice Dept. investigating NFL over antitrust tactics The Justice Department and FCC have opened up an investigation into the NFL for antitrust tactics. It focuses on whether the league has created an unlevel field that harms consumers. The concerns drawn from the DOJ are that prices have gotten too expensive to watch during the season.  The Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961 was created to limit antitrust protections. It allows leagues to combine broadcasting rights and sign exclusive contracts without crossing any lines. This Act has recognized that the individual teams are interdependent partners, which requires competitive balance and playing surface. The DOJ is determining if the league is acting within the Act’s intent of fair competition and fan access. Before the Act, the teams had to negotiate tv rights. This created antitrust lawsuits and low attendance records. Consumers could just watch the games at home instead of going in in person. The SBA does not apply to streaming s...

Dolphins’ De’Von Achane absent from voluntary workouts The Miami Dolphins began their voluntary 9-week offseason training on Tuesday, there was one missing player, running back, De’Von Achane.  Achane is believed to be absent due to a contract holdout. He is entering the final year of his 4-year deal.  He is set to make $1.1 million on his base salary in 2026 before becoming a free agent.  “I think those are talks for another time between Achane and Sully and those guys, “said Hafley during his press conference. “So I'm not going to dive into those thoughts right now. Honestly, that’s part of the business. It’s part of what every team goes through in those situations and they’ll work it out.”  During the annual coaches meeting, new Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan made it clear that he does not want to move his star rusher Achane during the offseason.  “There is zero effort on my end to move Achane,” said Sullivan. Sullivan has highlighted Achane as a “build...

Patriots prove “weak schedule” take wrong in win

Image
Patriots prove “weak schedule” take wrong in win The New England Patriots rout the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon, winning by a score of 42-10. The Patriots, now 13-3 on the year, went into MetLife Stadium and took care of business against the Jets in a game that seemed to get away from them fast. The Jets allowed five touchdowns total and got in a whole early, being down 14-0 in the first quarter. The Jets currently rank 30th out of the 32 teams in points allowed this season at 426 (28.4 points per game). Drake Maye and Co. were aggressive all game even with the control they had. The team has been criticized this season specifically for having a weaker schedule.  Despite the critiques, the Patriots not only won the games you should win on paper, but by a wide margin as well. The biggest win was week 4 against Carolina by a score of 42-13 and a 29-point differential. Week 7 against the Browns and week 13 against the Giants were tied for 18-point differentials. The main pa...

Patriots extend win streak to 10 in primetime The New England Patriots continue to shock the NFL world after beating the New York Giants in a Dec. 1 showdown.  In a season where the football world didn’t expect to see the Patriots win more than seven to eight games during the 2025 campaign, the Patriots put the world on notice by winning their 10th straight game against the Giants by a score of 33-15.  Patriots QB Drake Maye continues to show poise, consistency and confidence in each game that he plays this season. He completed 24 of his 31 passes in the contest, throwing for 282 yards and two touchdown passes. He completed shy of 80 percent of his passes.  A difference maker in this game was the return of Patriots receiver Kayshon Boutte, who suffered a hamstring injury in a week 9 contest against the Atlanta Falcons. Boutte brought in 4 receptions for 35 yards and a touchdown catch to go along with it.  Maye continues to impress with his deep throw accuracy this ...

Patriots seek playoff berth on Sunday Night Football The New England Patriots (11-3) are seeking their twelfth win on the year, entering a raucous M&T Bank Stadium to play the Baltimore Ravens on primetime.  The Patriots look to go into Baltimore and beat a Lamar Jackson led Ravens team that has had their ups and downs this season. The biggest storyline with the Ravens has been the availability of Lamar Jackson, who has missed six games this season due to various injuries. On Wednesday, the Ravens were without star quarterback Lamar Jackson as he was dealing with an illness. This absence marked the fifth consecutive week where he missed practice time.  Jackson is set to start against the Patriots Sunday night. Jackson is coming off a 24-0 win against the Bengals in week 15. He connected on eight of his twelve passes, throwing for 150 yards through the air and two touchdowns and one interception. How a water crisis changed Flint, MI forever

Image
How a water crisis affected a once booming Michigan town What would you do if you began to experience skin rashes and the taste of foul-smelling water and having nothing done about it? Residents of a small Michigan town were dealt those cards In April of 2014, residents of Flint, Michigan noticed a foul smell coming from their water, along with discoloration. Skin rashes and hair loss were among the effects of drinking this water. Despite residents complaining of poor water quality and clear health problems, officials were ignoring these complaints.  The town of Flint would find that the poor water quality and noticeable health concerns was caused by highly corrosive water. Flint had switched the water supply from Detroit’s city water system to the Flint river system. The switch was triggered by cost-saving efforts while a new water pipeline would be built in Lake Huron.  With the help of journalists and doctors, the Flint community garnered the attention of media outle...

Damar Hamlin collapses after collision

Image
If you’re someone who is playing a sport this is a reminder to not take for granted the sport that you are blessed enough to have the ability to play. Damar Hamlin went face to face with a situation he never thought he’d see during a Monday Night Football game.  Heading into a Monday Night Football game on Monday, January 2, we would see two teams that both had playoff implications on the line. The Buffalo Bills currently sit as the 2nd seed in the playoff picture and would be the team that would take over the #1 seed if they won this game. The Cincinnati Bengals are currently the 3rd seed in the playoff picture so a win and handing the Bills a loss would mean that the Bengals would win the AFC north division title and they would also move to the 2nd seed spot and the Bills would move to the 3rd seed in the playoffs.  With the playoff implications out of the way for both teams, let’s get into the meat and potatoes of the game. Going into it the Bills entered 12-3 on the...
